"Let's Eat!" Filipinos LOVE to eat. As a Filipino living overseas, I crave the foods that I grew up with. It is a favourite topic of discussion among my friends. We would post our culinary exploits and share recipes. This blog will hopefully be a treasure trove of our individual memories, and a place to share our experiences.

Mars Bars Rice Krispie Squares
One day, my boss brought these yummies to work. I loved them. I've made them twice ever since and it hardly lasts a couple of days. They're perfect for my daughter's lunch box. I'm not very fond of baking cookies. These are way easier, and since I am such a "chewy texture" lover, these fit the bill!
4 Mars Bars, cut into smaller squares
1/4 plus 2 tbsp. of butter
3 cups mini marshmallows
1 tsp. vanilla
4 cups rice krispies cereal
Grease a glass bowl and an 8x8 glass pan with butter. Place rice krispies in bowl and set aside. In a double boiler, melt the first three ingredients. Mix until smooth. Remove from heat, then add vanilla and mix well. Pour onto rice krispies and mix until evenly incorporated. You have to act quickly as the chocolate-marshmallow mixture gets stickier as it cools down.
Place mixture in glass pan and pack it down evenly. Let it cool down and cut into squares.
Enjoy!
